DC Talk Reunites!

Just as many speculated over the last few months, TobyMac announced the big news of the DC Talk reunion! The prayers of many Jesus Freaks have been answered as they will once again have the opportunity to hear & see new music from the ground breaking Christian super group. Fan’s hopes for a reunion were disappointed over the last couple of years by the surprise moves of Michael Tait taking over as front man for the Newsboys and Kevin Max doing the same with Audio Adrenaline. Tobymac, who found the most success of the trio as a solo artist, stated that he recently felt the desire to resurrect DC Talk. Feeling that his fans just aren’t buying tickets to his shows anymore, Tobymac thinks a DC Talk record is needed for a successful career move.  In an unexpected twist and as a precaution to ensure interest from Christian music fans, Toby tapped former Newsboys frontman Peter Furler and former Audio Adrenaline frontman Mark Stuart to create the newly reunited version of DC Talk. Plans for a 2013 co-headlining tour with Petra are being worked on and should be announced soon.

Hope this makes for a wonderful April 1 surprise!

StompTown Revival Reaches #3 on iTunes Album Chart!

iTunes Christian Album Chart

Last week proved to be an incredible week for StompTown Revival as the new duo transcended expectations reaching #3 on the iTunes Christian Album Chart. The Save The City Records release held strong throughout the remainder of the week occupying the Top 5 for a few days and Top 10 throughout the weekend. The achievement was a feat that very few accomplish with no radio play,. StompTown Revival’s marketing strategy was built around touching a musical need that rests deep in the soul of Americans. “Roots, traditions, blues and hymns are what built American music” states StompTown’s Gabe Martinez.

The talent of the duo led to StompTown Revival becoming one of the featured performers at the Christian Music Summit that was held for the first time in Nashville, TN October 5-6. The invitation to perform came from one of the co-founders of the 9-year conference, Bruce Adolph, who is also President of the Adolph Agency, Inc in Seattle, WA and publisher of Christian Musician and Worship Musician.

StompTown Revival is a musical force to be reckoned with, and at our CMS Nashville conference they thoroughly impressed an all musician crowd,” says Adolph. “I was sitting next to Phil Keaggy for StompTown’s set and halfway through their first song Phil leaned over to me and said, ‘they’re awesome!’  What more can I say?  Their fresh approach to Christian Americana/Folk/Roots music was a joy to watch.  If you’re a music fan – buy their record, if you are a radio programmer – play their music, and if you are a concert or festival promoter – book this two member band.  You will not regret it. They are that good and that original.”

Apple Announces The iCar

While most Apple fans have been caught up in anticipation for the iPhone 5 and Apple TV Set, the top innovator in the world announces something totally unexpected, the iCar.

When Walter Isaacson stated in the Steve Jobs biography that he had “figured it out”, Jobs wasn’t talking about TV like previously believed. Jobs had apparently hired award-winning Japanese car designer Autosan Makertz in 2011 to create the ultimate driving machine, the iCar. The iCar will be sold at Nissan dealerships until Apple finalizes construction of their free-standing stores which they plan to call Apple World. The stores will serve as both a car dealership and a location to sell their electronics products. The Apple World stores will contain service centers for the new iCar which will be a brand extension of the Genius Bar. Initially two models will be available:  White 4 Cylinder and Black 6 Cylinder. The cars begin shipping to US Nissan dealers in July.

iCar Features

– powered by i10 Apple Cells (charged by solar panels)

– iDashboard has the look and feel of an iPad

– Gorilla Glass Windows

– touchpad steering wheel

– Beats by Dr Dre Stereo System

– Quad core exhaust
