Many music marketing experts believe that YouTube is now the number one way that people discover new music. Due to the limited uses for video in the Christian music world and limited marketing budgets, many labels and independent artists are hesitant to spend money on making music videos. We recently decided to make a music video for Holly Starr’s new single “Don’t Have Love”. It appears that the investment is paying off as the video now has 100,000+ views on YouTube in only a couple short months. That is 100,000 new people exposed to Holly Starr. Outside of radio, we couldn’t ask for a better pre-promotion and momentum building vehicle for Holly’s new October release. I am now a huge believer that YouTube is the new MTV!
